Fennell was born in Jersey City, NJ. Heearned a four-year, full tuition scholarship to attend the University of Maryland at College Park. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Economics and spent six years in retail banking. He was an elected officer, as well as, a Branch Manager, Regional Budget Liaison and Regional Trainer. He then transitioned into a position as a Director of Operations for an international restaurant chain for seven years.

However, his success in corporate America did not provide peace for his soul. He finally said “yes” to God’s call to ministry in 2003. He began to serve in teaching and hospitality ministries under the leadership of Reverend Rodney T. Francis at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boonton, NJ. After Reverend Francis relocated to the Midwest in 2006, he was led to Reverend R. Lenton Buffalo, Jr. and the Union Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. It did not take long to discover why God led him there. Pastor Buffalo has truly been a spiritual dad to him through his counsel, mentoring, and love.

Pastor Buffalo licensed Minister Fennell to preach on March 25, 2007. He received accreditation in Christian Ministry at New York Theological Seminary on May 19, 2007 and currently serves as Superintendent of the Church School.

Minister Fennell knows first hand that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The ministry God has given him is to teach, encourage and assist people of all ages to build stronger relationships with God and each other. As a result, he founded Empowerment Solutions, LLC in 2004 and Empowerment Institute, Inc., a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, in 2006. These companies provide programs and workshops for youth and adults in the areas of character education, leadership, goal setting, communication, fatherhood, parent involvement, and mentoring.

He is eternally grateful for the love, support and encouragement of his beautiful wife and best friend, Danielle Wright-Fennell. Minister Fennell is also very thankful for the prayers of two women that changed his life - his grandmother, Helen Carter Spearman (Nana) and mother, Antoinette Fennell and son, Miles Alexander Fennell, who is twelve years old.

Minister Fennell’s desire is to receive the fullness of every good and perfect gift provided to him and use them to the glory of God.
